I'm so pumped and honored to have been asked to be featured at this event hosted by Bash Williams from The Traveling Cocktail. I recorded so much content, I had to make this a two part episode. The featured guests on part 1 are DJ Big RA, local artist Darius Lott, music producer Xai from Bal Headed Productions, and up and coming bar owner Ashley Nicole. Enjoy.

On this week's show, bass player from the band The Monster Inside Chad Rousseau joins me at my house as we share ice cream sandwiches and talk a lot about the work that goes into producing original music from scratch, the pros and cons of dropping singles vs. albums, and their big plans for 2020. These guys don't do covers, they do original content. Their new single, "My Mark" drops on Thursday Feb 13th and you can find it on most music streaming services including Spotify. Also be sure to search Facebook for The Monster Inside and check these guys out.

This week's guest is musician Tim Branch and even though his wife's expecting their second daughter at any moment, he still invited me over to share some stories about meeting his idols and how he balances a full time job and being a family man with trying to get a music career off the ground. He plays a lot of gigs around the Brazoria County area and after he welcomes another kiddo to the family, he plans on branching out (haha) into other cities to play his music. You can find him on Facebook by searching The Tim Branch Band.

This week I welcome the first author on Cake and Conversation, Kelsey Harris Dyke. She had a very unique upbringing, being the youngest of 16 children, and really started to discover her talent for writing by leaving her teachers and fellow students in stunned silence from an early age. She's published and you can find her stories at amazon.com/kelseydyke. Some of her titles include Capture, Feel With Me, and Tinder.
Also check out her website, areadersdream.com
She posts there daily while also providing audio recordings of each entry.

You know how parents aren't supposed to have a favorite kid, but they all do? Well, this episode is my favorite kid. Justin and I go way back and the conversation flew by. He'll for sure be back on Cake and Conversation and maybe next time there will actually be cake.
You can and should check out his website at dbsphotovideo.com
You should also check out another podcast called Pour Behavior. Hosted by DJ Marshal, take a peak behind the scenes of the life of a bartender. Hear stories, interviews with other industry members, and conversations with guests. Guaranteed to make you laugh and also maybe you'll gain more respect for people who work in the service industry.
